The Coronado Mustangs Drop 80 Points in Regional Round of UIL

The Coronado Mustangs football team is now 13-0 and heading to the State Quarterfinals after beating Colleyville Heritage 80-62 last weekend. Yes, 80 points.

It's an amazing feat, especially considering their opponent was 11-1 and hadn't allowed more than 36 points all season. Coronado scored 35 in the 3rd quarter. THE 3RD QUARTER.

Coronado quarterback Qua Gray had 450 yards passing and six touchdowns. Dynamic do-it-all receiver Blair Conwright caught four passes for 202 yards and three touchdowns and ran another in from 62 yards. The Mustangs had over 750 yards of total offense in the outburst.

The Mustangs will now play Denton Ryan in the UIL Quarterfinals. The Ryan Raiders beat the Monterey Plainsmen last weekend 49-28. Texas Tech commit and Ryan Raider reciever Gabriel Douglas caught seven passes for 124 yards and three touchdowns against the Plainsmen in the victory.

The Mustangs and the Raiders square off in Abilene at ACU on Saturday, December 9th at 2 p.m.
