The Lady Raider basketball team is down a few players before the season even tips-off, one for the year.

Freshman guard Ivonne Cook-Taylor will miss the season after suffering a torn ACL in practice this past week. She will undergo surgery towards the end of the month.

Cook-Taylor averaged 14.3 points, 3.7 assists and 13.2 rebounds per game as a senior at Terra Nova (Calif.) High School

Local product and former Monterey standout Haley Schneider will be sidelined the next 10-days after undergoing surgery Monday to remove a benign mass from her thyroid gland, but she is expected to be ready for the season opener Nov. 11.

She has played in just 19 games in two season at Texas Tech, averaging 0.6 points per game.

The Lady Raider open their season on Nov. 11 at Arizona State.
