We have some good news, and bad news, for you.

The bad news isn't new. You might have seen it last week that the best entrance in college football was in jeopardy of not happening against Lamar this Saturday when news broke that Fearless Champion, the horse that leads the team onto the field with the Masked Rider, had been sidelined by a leg injury.

Well, the update is in, and another horse has been found and will run in Fearless Champion's stead. So the good news is Texas Tech will be led out against Lamar by the indelible Masked Rider and a horse named Cody.

Ah, yes...Cody. A name that strikes fear into the heart of an enemy.

It's always 'next horse up' here in Lubbock, and I have faith that Cody will perform admirably in Fearless Champion's absence.

Even better: Texas Tech Athletics says it hopes to have Fearless Champion back on the field when the Red Raiders play Kansas on October 20th. It's always nice to work back into the lineup against an opponent like Kansas.
