Texas Tech Releases Head Volleyball Coach Don Flora
The Texas Tech Athletic Department has made more coaching changes this week as Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt announced that head volleyball coach Don Flora will not return for the 2016 season.
"We appreciate Don’s five years of service at Texas Tech," Hocutt said. "He always represented Texas Tech in a first-class manner. I wish him nothing but the best moving forward."
In his five seasons at Texas Tech, Flora accumulated a 67-87 overall and 12-68 Big 12 record. Texas Tech recently concluded its 2015 season with a 14-16 overall record and finished eighth in the Big 12 Conference at 3-13.
"I appreciate the relationships that we built with so many student-athletes, staff and coaches during our time here at Texas Tech," Flora said. "We made a ton of progress from what we walked into five years ago. You always want more as a coach, yet the recruiting connections and overall program development is something I am proud of during this time."
While the school searches for its new head volleyball coach, Associate Head Coach Jojit Coronel will serve as interim head coach.
