Texas Tech and UNLV squared off in a 2 game mid-week tilt on Monday and Tuesday splitting the series down the middle.

UNLV took the Monday game with Running Rebel Kyle Isbel recording 5 hits and 4 RBI to beat the Red Raiders 8-5, ending a 5 game Texas Tech win streak.

Texas Tech (17-8) bounced back from just their 2nd midweek loss out of 7 games bounced back on Tuesday, where Cory Raley had 4 hits and 4 RBI in Texas Tech's 14-6 win, including his 4th HR of the year and was just a triple shy of the cycle.

Michael Davis added 4 RBI of his own in the series finale at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The Red Raiders matched their season high for runs, 14, in the win which was their ninth over the past 11 games.

Eric Gutierrez owned another multi-RBI performance as he lined a two-run single up the middle in the ninth. The multi-RBI outing was Gutierrez’ team-leading eighth this season.

The large run support helped Ty Damron (2-1) pick up the win as the left-hander allowed three runs off four hits and six strikeouts over his five complete innings. His six strikeouts marked a season high and were one shy of his career high.

Robert Dugger replaced Damron to start the eighth inning as he surrendered three runs off four hits over three complete innings before Parker Mushinski and Dalton Brown combined to toss a scoreless ninth.
