The Red Raider Softball team is dominating so far in the non-conference season. They are 24-1 with the only loss at the hands of Washington, a top 5 team. The winning ways have put Texas Tech in rarified air as far as the Softball team is concerned.

As the Red Raiders head into the Tiger Classic this weekend to wrap up tournament play before the conference opener against Oklahoma they will be ranked in the top 10. Their first such ranking in program history with a No. 10 ranking in the ESPN.com./USA Softball Top-25 Poll. The Red Raiders were also recognized as No. 13 in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Top-25 Poll.

Alabama is undefeated but beyond that Texas Tech is one of the few teams with just one loss. Oklahoma, at number two, has two losses. UCLA, number one, has a single loss.

According to TexasTech.com, The Red Raiders lead the Big 12 and rank third in the nation with an impressive .363 batting average and .448 on-base percentage, fifth in scoring with 7.48 runs per game, sixth with a .593 slugging percentage and rank seventh overall with a .980 fielding percentage.

The Red Raiders take on a plethora of teams in Memphis this weekend to keep the momentum heading into conference play.
