Texas Tech Softball Coach Learns Her Team Is Ranked During Interview
Texas Tech Softball is off to a blazing-hot start in 2019, going 10-0 in their first 10 games. They're getting Big 12 players of the week honors, tossing no-hitters, and generally dominating everyone they play.
It shouldn't be surprising for this quality team to be ranked, but after being shut out of the national rankings since 2012, head coach Adrian Gregory learned of the accomplishment of being ranked during an interview with Taylor Peters and TexasTech.TV.
Peters is making small talk about the team being ranked, and Gregory takes a second before having the realization.
The Texas Tech softball team isn't just ranked in one measly poll, either. Three national polls have them ranked as high as 19th in the country.
If you've followed Texas Tech softball in the last several years, this level of success is new.
The team finished with 31 wins last season, and sniffed the polls several times while receiving votes. Now, with pitching to follow a powerful offense, the Texas Tech softball squad is poised to take on the elite teams in the Big 12 and make a run in the tournament.
