Texas Tech has signed Wofford grad transfer Josh Burger to finish his playing career in Lubbock. He's an offensive lineman who Matt Wells needs to make an immediate impact.

Burger started 25 games for the Terriers at right tackle. The 6'4", 290-pound tackle finished his sophomore season in 2018 as an honorable mention All-American after recording a team-high 109 knockdown blocks. He followed that up with 115 pancakes in 2019.

As a redshirt freshman in 2017, he didn't start in any game, but played in all 12. In high school, Burger was a three-time All-American wrestler, as well as a standout offensive lineman.

Burger will have an opportunity to compete for a starting role right away with three offensive linemen graduating this offseason from the Texas Tech front. Wofford is an option scheme, so the transition will be bigger than if it was just a jump from FCS to FBS in a similar scheme.
