One thing I love about the First Friday Art Trail is that you can not only see awesome art, but you can learn something as well.

This Friday, May 5th, the Texas Tech School of Art will be featuring “Are You Listening to Me?” This is an exhibit that revolves around research that is being performed by two prominent artists and instructors at Texas Tech.

Artists and educators, Cody Arnall and Lindsey Maestri, deem themselves as "great collaborators" as a married couple and as individual artists working in collectives. However, they have kept their own art practice somewhat separated from each other, never sharing a studio space together. Now, their exhibition Are You Listening to Me? highlights the ways in which their art, clearly influenced by each other yet created separately, will share a single space and audience. In this way, their exhibition explores the relationships between artists, partners, audiences, and artworks.

The exhibit will be open from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, May 5th at the TTU Satellite Gallery at the Charles Adams Studio Project at 1108 5th St.
