Texas Tech to Play Thursday at Big 12 Tournament

We're less than a week away from Selection Sunday, and the Big 12 Conference will hold postseason tournaments for both men's and women's basketball in Kansas City. The men's tournament will start on Wednesday, March 10th, and conclude on Saturday, March 13th.

Texas Tech Red Raider Basketball is ranked no. 20 in this week's AP Top 25 Poll, and the team earned the Big 12 Conference 6-seed for this week's conference tournament after finishing the regular season with a (17-9, 9-8) record.

Texas Tech's first game in the Big 12 Tournament will be against Texas on Thursday night, and it will be televised on either ESPN or ESPN2. The Red Raiders swept Texas in their two regular season meetings; beating Texas in Austin 79-77 on January 13th, then winning 68-59 on Saturday, February 27th at the United Supermarkets Arena.

If Texas Tech beats Texas on Thursday, they would play the winner of no. 2 Kansas- Oklahoma/Iowa State on Friday. The championship game for the Big 12 Conference Tournament is Saturday evening, and the winner will earn the customary automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
