Texas Tech pitcher Trey Masek has been named to a national watch list.

Masek is one of 38 pitchers for National Pitcher of the Year, the College Baseball Hall of Fame announced on Monday. Masek is 3-0 on the season with a 0.84 earned run average in six starts this season.

Masek missed three weeks of the season due to soreness in his arm and made his return on Sunday in the Red Raiders 6-5 loss to Lubbock Christian University.

Masek leads the Big 12 in Earned Run Average (ERA) and has issued only 11 walks in 43 innings pitched this season with 42 strikeouts. Opponents are batting only .184 against Masek.

This is the third consecutive season a Texas Tech pitcher has been named to the list with John Neely in 2011 and Duke von Schamann in 2012.
