Texas Tech Lineman Lonnie Edwards Named to Preseason All-Big 12 First Team

The Big 12 Conference announced its 2011 Preseason All-Big 12 Football Team today, with Texas Tech senior offensive lineman Lonnie Edwards picking up his fifth preseason honor as he was named to the first team.

Edwards has started 23 games in his career and earned All-Big 12 second team honors just last season. The 6-foot-4, 320 pound lineman will anchor the Red Raider line at left guard this upcoming season.

The team was announced on Tuesday in advance of next week’s Big 12 Conference Media Day at the Westin Galleria. The Red Raiders will open its season by hosting Texas State on Saturday September 3^rd from Jones AT&T Stadium.
