The 20th anniversary celebration of Texas Tech Lady Raider Basketball's 1993 National Championship was a victorious one Sunday against Texas.

Chynna Brown scored 16 points as the Lady Raiders beat Texas 69-62. The Lady Raiders are tied for second place in the Big 12 Conference, with Iowa State, with a record of (19-7, 9-5). Texas' record dropped to (9-15, 2-11) and they are in ninth place in the Big 12 Conference.

Texas Tech defensively had another great game by forcing 24 Lady Longhorn turnovers and scoring 26 points off the turnovers.

The Lady Raiders took a nine point lead into halftime, 36-27. Texas then whittled the lead down to start the second half. UT's 11-1 run in the first seven minutes of the second half gave them a 38-37 lead.

Casey Morris then hit a 3-pointer for the Lady Raiders to retake the lead at 40-38 at the 12:54 mark. From that point forward, the Lady Raiders held on to the lead for the rest of the game.

Chassidy Fussell led Texas with 27 points and 6 rebounds. Imano McGee-Stafford had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, along with 3 blocks.

Two other Lady Raiders scored in double digits: Casey Morris had 15 points and Kelsi Baker had 14.

Sunday's game was also momentous for senior guard, Chynna Brown. During the Lady Raiders win, Brown scored her 1,000th career point. She was honored with a special gameball from UnderArmour.

Sunday's win also marks the first time the Lady Raiders swept Texas in the regular season since 2006.

With the Lady Raiders (9-5) Big 12 Conference record, it's the first time Kristy Curry has won nine conference games in a season, in her seven season at Texas Tech.

Texas Tech gets the week off before playing at Kansas next Sunday.

Texas Tech wore throwback jerseys that were exact replicas of the 1993 black jerseys worn during Tech’s run to the NCAA championship. February 17 marked the 20th anniversary of Texas Tech’s 1993 win over Texas in Austin – the first time the Lady Raiders beat the Longhorns in Austin. The win came in the midst of a 19-game winning streak that led Tech to the Final Four and its first and only NCAA Championship.
