Baker Mayfield played a very good game. He threw for seven touchdowns and only needed 27 completions to do so. He also threw for 545 yards. Oklahoma won the game 66-59.

Mayfield dealt with the Texas Tech faithful trolling him all week long. They told him he killed Harambe and that his girlfriend was unfaithful. The Tech fans unleashed hell on Twitter, too. They played the role of a jilted lover in a Lifetime movie. As they say, "hell hath no fury like a fan base you pissed off."

Baker Mayfield knew what he was coming back to, and for the most part he kept his cool.

Late in the second half, Mayfield scrambled left and got driven out of bounds. With the defender at his feet Mayfield let out a burst of emotion. Probably something douche bag-esque. The yelling fit received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and the chant of a thousand voices raining down, "F--- YOU BAKER!"

It was in unison, testing the censorship of Fox Sports. Booming into living rooms across the nation on the nationally televised game. "No, sweetie," mothers told their children, "they're saying 'lucky Baker' because of all the touchdowns."

I want to make a comment about how it shouldn't have been said or chanted, but I'm not a great climber and that horse is just too high. I just basked in the glory of a chant that has been building up in Lubbock since December of 2013.

If I'm being completely honest, I'm not sure why everyone hates Baker Mayfield so bad. Maybe I just have a soft spot for the villain of a story.

After the game was broadcast on FOX, they interviewed Baker and he said he liked the chanting and he fed off the energy. Maybe everyone should tweet him this video. You know, because he likes it so much.

Just a thought. Long live the Matador.
