As Spring Football kicks into gear, one Texas Tech football assistant won't be in attendance. He'll be shooting a new season of ABC's The Bachelorette.

Kirk Bryant is in his first season as a coach at Texas Tech after spending the last two years at Austin Peay as the inside receivers and recruiting coach.

At Texas Tech, Bryant isn't in an on-field role for the Red Raiders so he won't be missing much in the spring practices that he can't break down on film in between dates with The Bachelorette, where there won't be just one leading lady, but two!

Now, I've never seen The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, but if you're a fan reading this, the two bachelorettes are Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia.

As I said earlier, Spring Practice started for Texas Tech on March 23rd, but so did filming for The Bachelorette. If Bryant makes a splash on the show, he'll be featured on the program when it begins on July 11th on ABC.

Bryant was confirmed as a potential participant on the popular reality TV show last night on the show's official Facebook page, calling him 'Kirk B. from Lubbock, TX.'

A quick look at his Texas Tech football roster photo confirmed the same Kirk B. The post from the reality show said the photos were of "the men who may be on this season of The Bachelorette!"

Emphasis on 'may', I guess.

If you're worried about the football team not having Bryant around for spring practice or that it will be a distraction, don't be. Bryant's job title is Offensive Analyst, which again is an off-the-field role that focuses on in-season preparation. He'll also be able to work all summer, but I wonder if either of those bachelorettes wants to make the move to Lubbock.
