Texas Tech Basketball Takes a Field Trip to Watch High School Volleyball
Chris Beard is a vibrant and intense personality on the sidelines of his Texas Tech basketball games. Often times he'll turn to his bench and scream what I assume to be words of encouragement. He'll then turn to the crowd and wave his arms like a bird of prey urging the crowd to somehow match his energy and passion.
As college basketball gets back into the swing of things, Beard is stretching his encouragement muscles in other ways. Like taking his Red Raiders to cheer on his fiance Randi Trew's Fresnhip Volleyball squad.
You can see the team above, courtesy of KLBK's Eric Kelly, do the wave and cheer like they know what the hell is going on a few feet away on the volleyball court. Not that volleyball is complicated.
Beard and the Red Raider basketball team had to find something to do while they wait for their season to start near the end of November. Last year they were able to go to the Bahamas and play several games, which is basically the same as watching volleyball at this point in 2020 right? You do what you can.
Texas Tech will release the 2020-21 basketball schedule in the coming weeks with their season starting in late November and Big 12 games potentially happening in December.
