Texas Tech Basketball Adds Another Big Man to the Roster
Texas Tech Basketball has had its fair share of roster turnover the past several offseasons. Chris Beard has become synonymous with flipping a roster and bringing in talent to replace the talent going out. The 2020 class might be Beard's most Beard-like roster flip to date.
The two leading scorers are heading to the professional ranks. Two new veteran transfers, replace the last two veteran transfers. The highest-rated recruiting class to ever be signed by Texas Tech to boot? That's a classic Beard offseason.
And just when you think the class is complete, Chris Beard adds another 4-star prospect. I don't know how the scholarships will work out, but Texas Tech has signed 7-foot Russian Vladislav Goldin to play basketball at Texas Tech.
A 7-foot-1 center from Nalchik, Russia, Goldin has international experience playing for the Russian U18 and U19 National Teams along with one year of prep basketball in the United States.
That prep basketball coming at Putnam Science Academy, which also provided Texas Tech with Malik Ondigo, Joshua Mballa, and Russell Tchewa.
Beard has added 8 players to the roster this offseason. One JUCO transfer, three collegiate transfers, and now 5 freshmen including Goldin. That's good for the number one class in the Big 12 and the 10th highest-rated class in the Nation.
