The Red Raiders baseball program has been ranked 3rd in the nation by three different publications this offseason so it's no surprise that the Big 12 coaches think they have a lot of talented players. Four of those Red Raiders were named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team. Additionally, Dylan Neuse was named Big 12 Player of the Year.

Neuse joins Josh Jung as the second Red Raider to receive the honor in the last three seasons. Jung got the honor prior to the 2019 season in which he won the regular-season award as well.

Micah Dallas was named to one of the six pitcher spots on the All-Big 12 team while Cal Conley nabbed an infield role and Nate Rombach secured a slot as a designated hitter. It’s the third straight year Tech has led the conference in selections.

The preseason awards are voted on by the Big 12 coaches, but the coaches can not vote for their own players.

The Red Raiders are nationally respected with Neuse, Dallas and Conley all raking in preseason All-American honors to match their addition to the conference team.

Both Neuse and Dallas made their second straight All-Big 12 preseason team after Neuse hit .355 in 2020 before the season was cut short. Dallas had started in the bullpen last season dialing up a .57 ERA and 23 strikeouts to just one walk in 15.2 innings. Conley hit .371 in his first year as a Red Raider and Rombach was crushing the baseball leading the Big 12 in home runs and RBI when the season ended in 2020.

The Red Raiders are scheduled to start their season at the State Farm College Baseball Showdown at the Texas Rangers’ new Globe Life Field. No. 3 Tech will battle No. 8 Arkansas, No. 6 Ole Miss, and No. 7 Mississippi State from Feb. 19-21.
