Texas Tech Baseball Concludes Sweep Over Kentucky In A Big Way
After taking two out of three in their first weekend series against the Oregon Ducks, the #3 Texas Tech baseball team ended the latest weekend of baseball with a sweep over the Kentucky Wildcats.
They finished off the three-game sweep with an emphatic 19 to 4 thrashing of the Wildcats on Sunday afternoon.
Freshman left-hander Mason Montgomery was impressive in his second start of his Texas Tech career, tossing 5 innings and giving up two runs on two hits with five strikeouts.
Brian Klein finished the game 4-for-7 at the dish and added four RBI and two runs scored. Josh Jung finished 3-for-3 with four walks, two RBI and two runs, and Tanner O'Tremba finished 3-for-5, including a home run, and also had a team-high 7 RBI in the finale.
The Red Raiders close their seven-game homestand on Tuesday, Feb. 26, in a midweek tilt with New Mexico State. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. from Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
