Texas Rangers Extend RHP Colby Lewis through 2013
Texas Rangers injured right-hander pitcher Colby Lewis will return to the lone star state in 2013 as the two sides agreed to a one-year contract extension Monday.
The deal is reportedly worth $2 million, plus up to another $4 million in incentives.
Lewis was 6-6 with a 3.43 ERA in 16 starts this season before going down July 19th due to surgery on his right elbow. He set a career-high last season with 14 wins, and is 4-1 with a 2.34 ERA in eight career postseason starts, all of which came the past two season with the Rangers.
For his career, Lewis is 44-44 with a 4.76 ERA over parts of eight Major League seasons with three different teams. Since signing with the Rangers in 2010, he has gone 32-29 with a 3.93 ERA over 80 starts.
