Texas Rangers Defeat Chicago White Sox 3-2

The Texas Rangers started the 2012 season off with a 3-2 victory Friday over the Chicago White Sox from the Ball Park in Arlington.

Texas struck early scoring a run in the first when Josh Hamilton hit a sacrifice fly to center driving in Ian Kinsler. Kinsler added the second run in the third with a solo shot over the left field wall giving the Rangers a 2-0 advantage.

Chicago knotted it up at two a piece in the sixth, with Adam Dunn blasting a solo shot into the upper deck in right field. Shortstop Alexei Ramirez drove in the innings other run.

Texas responded in the bottom half of the sixth with Michael Young driving in Hamilton to make it 3-2.

Colby Lewis picked up the win going six innings allowing seven hits, striking out nine while walking just one.

New closer Joe Nathan came on in the ninth to close out the game and pick up his first save as a Texas Rangers.

Texas and Chicago continues the three game series with 7:05 first pitches Saturday and Sunday.
