Matt Garza has been a serious help to the starting rotation this year for the Texas Rangers.  He is 6-2 in his last ten starts with a 3.58 ERA in that span but last night was not one of his best efforts.  He would earn the loss as the White Sox took down the Rangers 5-2.

Garza, who has been one of the more consistent starter for the Rangers since they acquired him from the Chicago Cubs, really struggled last night.  Although he had very little run support, he did not help out his own cause as he went seven innings while giving up four runs on seven hits.  The White Sox starter John Danks on the other hand had a solid outings for Chicago.  He was able to go six innings but gave up just two runs on eight hits as he was awarded the win.

Texas' offense also had a rough game on Sunday.  They were 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position while stranding nine in the loss. Texas was 3-for-20 with runners in scoring position in the series.  With the loss on Sunday, the series was awarded to Chicago.  Luckily for the Rangers, division foe Oakland continues to struggle down the stretch.  They still lead the A's by 2.5 games in the American League West.

Ron Washington and company will try and to get back on track this week as they start a three game midweek series in Seattle against the Mariners.  First pitch is set for 9:10 pm on FOX Sports SW from Safeco Field in Seattle.
