South Plains College Offering Commercial Driver (CDL) Classes Starting January 28th

Four years (or more) in college isn't for everyone. It isn't even for most people. At the end of the day, a trade can be just as lucrative and satisfying, and the education for it can be way less cost prohibitive.

That is certainly the case with obtaining a Commercial Driving License (CDL), otherwise known as a Class A. This allows the driver to drive large trucks like 18-wheelers for a variety of industries. Many companies are looking to hire with sign-on bonuses, benefits and a pay grade that makes my mouth water.

According to our friends at Everything Lubbock, South Plains College will offer CDL classes beginning January 28th, 2019 at a cost of $4,995:

Students will be prepared for a written exam; receive range driving skills practice and street driving experience for Class A licensing; and be taught rules and regulations with the Texas Department of Transportation. Once complete, graduates will receive a certificate of completion and a commercial driving license, Class A.
