Shreveport’s Greedy Williams Not Taken in NFL Draft First Round
At the end of the regular season for the LSU Tigers, Shreveport's Greedy Williams was being projected as a Top 5 pick in the NFL Draft. The Calvary product was so confident in his NFL Draft stock that he decided to sit out LSU's bowl game.
Now, at the end of the First Round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Greedy Williams was left out.
Some projections showed Greedy going as high as #14, to as low in the first round as #32 to the New England Patriots. However the Patriots decided to take a lesser known wide receiver from Arizona State instead of the LSU Tiger.
Greedy's NFL Combine numbers were nothing short of impressive, running one of the fastest 40 yard dash times this year, and he had no off field issues that should have caused him to fall in the draft.
The only potential issue that could have turned teams away was his decision to miss the LSU bowl game. His LSU teammate Devin White, who did play in the bowl game, was taken #5 overall in the First Round.
Greedy will likely be selected in the second round of the draft, and if he falls below that, then it becomes obvious that there is something the public is unaware of that's causing teams to move away from Greedy.
