Mark Cuban wants you to be rich.

Filthy rich.

In his latest blog post at Blog Maverick, Cuban insists that people need to get off their butts and make boat loads of wealth to drive the economy.

Cuban writes,

"I don’t care what anyone says. Being rich is a good thing. Not just in the obvious sense of benefiting you and your family, but in the broader sense.  Profits are not a zero sum game. The more you make the more of a financial impact you can have."

Cuban's sense of the common good is admirable, or misguided depending on your political persuasion, and I can't help but think this is in response to President Barack Obama's policy speech on taxing wealthier Americans more.

Cuban continues,

"So be Patriotic. Go out there and get rich. Get so obnoxiously rich that when that tax bill comes , your first thought will be to choke on how big a check you have to write. Your 2nd thought will be “what a great problem to have”, and your 3rd should be a recognition that in paying your taxes you are helping to support millions of Americans that are not as fortunate as you."

Paying taxes isn't necessarily Patriotic, but you have a legal obligation to pay them at the point of a gun. I agree mostly with Cuban and his thoughts are something ponder as he is one of those rich guys who happens to build things from nothing.
