Lubbock Police Investigate Two Vehicle Accidents, Including Deadly Hit-and-Run
Lubbock law enforcement are investigating two separate vehicle accidents that occurred Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018.
Two vehicles collided yesterday evening at or near the intersection of County Road 7700 and County Road 2330, 13 miles south of Central Lubbock.
The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office, Woodrow Volunteer Fire Department and the Department of Public Safety were all at the scene of the accident.
Three individuals were taken to University Medical Center by EMS, and a 1-year-old child was last reported in critical condition. It's unclear at this time what caused the accident or the identities of those involved.
Law enforcement is also investigating a separate accident that occurred in Northwest Lubbock Thursday night. A hit-and run-has left one person dead, according to Lubbock police.
The pedestrian was found deceased just after 11:45 p.m. at 4th Street and Upland Avenue.
According to a report released by police Friday morning, the pedestrian is believed to have been walking in the right hand eastbound lane in the 7000 block of 4th Street when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound.
The vehicle did not stop and render aid and instead quickly fled the scene.
It's not known who was hit or who may be responsible. An Accident Investigation Team with the LPD is currently on the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 806-741-1000.
