Police Arrest 1 Person After Car Crashes into Lubbock Home
A car crashed into a house Friday afternoon (Jan. 11) in southwest Lubbock.
Lubbock Police received a call just after 4 p.m. from Jake's Sports Cafe who say there were some intoxicated individuals causing problems.
When police arrived, the individuals left in a Ford Focus. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused, initiating a short pursuit. Due to heavy traffic, the pursuit was stopped, and, just a few minutes later, police were notified that the Ford Focus had crashed into a home in the 5500 block of Richmond Avenue.
The two occupants fled the scene, but officers were able to arrest one, who was charged with public intoxication.
Following the suspect's arrest, police at the scene were told of another crash that may have occurred during the pursuit.
According to LPD, they learned that the vehicle driven a suspect struck a vehicle in the 4600 block of 50th Street, injuring the driver. Following the crash, the victim called EMS, who took responded and took them to a local hospital. Police say he suffered "minor to moderate injuries."
Police are still investigating.
