Steak ‘N Shake Claims They’re Closed for Remodeling, But Signs Point Otherwise

Lubbock's Steak 'N Shake (5012 Milwaukee Avenue) is closed, but with a handwritten sign on the door which gives this chocolate-banana shake lover a little hope.

However, every other "sign" points to this location being closed permanently.

There's a commercial real estate sign outside the location, both Steak 'N Shake signs are down, and the corporate website doesn't show a Lubbock location. Additionally, Yelp has the location marked as closed.

Honestly, it doesn't look good for Lubbock's Steak 'N Shake, which is a shame. Where else can you get chili with spaghetti noodles?
