The Children’s Miracle Network at UMC Children’s Hospital is hosting their annual Extra Life Lubbock fundraiser this week.

Extra Life is an event put on every year along with the hospitals in the Children’s Miracle Network. The event has raised over $87 million dollars for participating hospitals since 2008 through their 24-hour gaming events.

UMC is taking it a step further and making the event even bigger this year by having events all week up until the 24-hour video game marathon. They're encouraging anyone who wants to participate to play any game they want, at any time.

The 24-hour marathon starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 5th, and goes until 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 6th. If you choose to participate, you can play from home, Contender eSports, or even Code Ninjas Lubbock. All you have to do is share your Extra Life link with family and friends and start fundraising.

No worries if you aren’t much of a gamer, there are plenty of other opportunities for you to participate in the fun. On November 3rd from 5 to 8 p.m., you can 'Jump for KIDS’ at Adrenaline City. You can also join UMC for their Spirit Night at Main Event on Sunday, November 11th from 5 to 8 p.m.

Proceeds raised during these events will help the Children’s Miracle Network continue to provide the best healing environment with the latest technology at UMC Children’s Hospital.

If you want to participate, just head to Extra-Life.org, sign up with a team or as an individual, set your fundraising goal, confirm your beneficiary as UMC Children’s Hospital, share your Extra Life link, and start gaming.

Teams or individuals that raise $2,500 or more will receive one of Extra Life’s signature T-shirts and backpacks.

You can find the full schedule and more information about the event at umchealthsystem.com/extra-life.
