It was national signing day yesterday for most of the Red Raiders athletic programs and the athletic department got a serious influx of talent. The Track and Field team especially has been recruiting at a national championship level for the past several seasons.

This year is no different as they add 7 difference makers to their class. Four signings for the Women's team and three for the men's.

It's the Women's team that seems to have stolen the day though. Two NJCAA National Champions join the Red Raiders in Demisha Roswell and Onaara Obamowagun. That's along with two high school jumpers Mara Hering and Grace Cunningham.

Cunningham comes to Lubbock from Las Vegas where she attended Silverado High School last season.

For Cunningham being an athlete is a family affair. Her sister Vashti is an 8-time National Champion in both indoor and outdoor High Jump events. She also competed at the Olympics in 2016 and is a World Champion. Her brother, Randall II, is also a high jumper who won National Championships during his time at USC.

Cunninghams' father is the NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham who played for the Eagles and Vikings among other teams in his 16 NFL seasons. Her mother was a professional ballet dancer.
