After a long battle with Alzheimers, Hall of Fame Receiver Pete Pihos has passed away. He was 87.

The Hall of Fame receiver had a spectacular career with the Eagles. After being drafted in the third-round of the 1946 NFL Draft, he missed the next two seasons serving in the military. In 1947 he began his nine-year career where he had 373 catches for 6,519 yards and 61 touchdowns. He was a member of the Philadelphia teams that captured back-to-back in 1948-49.

He was also selected the NFL all-decade team for the 1940's.

He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1970.
