This recall could seriously affect your four-legged friend.

We found out about the recall of a particular brand of dog food thanks to our BFFs at The Consumerist:

The makers of Party Animal pet foods say they have recalled one lot each of their Cocolicious Beef & Turkey dog food (Lot #0136E15204 04, best by July 2019) and 13-ounce-can Cocolicious Chicken & Beef dog food (Lot #0134E15 237 13, best by August 2019), after customers raised concerns about the possibility of pentobarbital.

Do not use this product if it matches the information above.

If you didn't already know, pentobarbital is a drug that is used to put animals to sleep. It can also be used in executions. So how did this drug get into dog food?

A customer in Texas sent samples of the Party Animal products to Texas A&M for a lab analysis, and that's when the drug was found.

Party Animal claims that they have no such drugs inside any of their plants. That still doesn’t answer the question of how the drug got into the food. One possibility is that someone tampered with the cans or poisoned the food at the manufacturing plant. Hopefully, an investigation will take place to get to the bottom of this.
