1 Person Seriously Injured in Car Accident on 19th Street

At least one person was seriously injured in a car accident Wednesday morning, Feb. 12th, in north Lubbock.

KAMC News reports the accident was called in just before 6:30 a.m. in the 4700 block of 19^th Street. A photo of the accident (seen above) shows a silver 4-door car that had collided head on with a tree. The car was heavily damaged in the crash, and the Jaws of Life reportedly had to be used to rescue multiple people from inside the car.

One person was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries. It’s unclear who else might have been injured.

Lubbock police are still investigating how the accident occurred.
