Nutritional Ways To Stay Cool On A Hot Day
With highs in Lubbock expected to be between 104 and 108 the next couple of days and more hot days upon us this Summer, it is always good to get tips on how to stay cool.
Brenda Duby with United Supermarkets joined me today to offer a few solutions on keeping your body and kitchen cool. When it comes to keeping your body cool, the obvious answer is water of course. But Duby suggested buying fruit and cutting it up into cubes and freezing it. For example, watermelon. Cube it up and add frozen watermelon to your glass of water. It will make the water taste great and you get the added benefit of delicious watermelon.
When it's 104 outside you probably don't feel like cooking. Duby suggested feeding your family without heating the kitchen. Dole chopped salads at United are buy one, get one free. Peaches are also on sale right now which you can add to the salad. Pair the salad up with some great and already cooked chicken from United Supermarkets and you have just prepared dinner in no time at all, and your kitchen can remain cool.
