No. 10 Texas Tech Trounces No. 6 TCU 7-3 in Series Opener
Last week wasn't a great week for the Texas Tech Red Raider Baseball program. The Red Raiders lost two of three to rival Texas at home last weekend, including a shocking 17-1 loss on Sunday to the Horns.
What a difference a week makes.
Davis Martin had his best outing of the season throwing 6.1 innings on the mound to pace the Red Raiders to a 7-3 victory over No. 6 TCU in Fort Worth in Big 12 Conference play. The win gives Tech a record of 33-12 overall and 13-3 mark in the Big 12 expanding their lead over second place TCU by three games.
The Red Raiders blew the game wide open in the 6th inning as TCU committed multiple errors on routine plays which allowed Tech to score four runs in the frame to give them a 6-1 lead. The Red Raiders would tack on another run in the 7th inning to give Tech the lead for good.
Texas Tech and TCU play game two of the series at 4pm in Fort Worth with television coverage on Fox Sports Southwest Plus.
