Calling all music lovers: a new event is coming to Lubbock every month where "story meets sound."

Local LBK is bringing you  "The Lubbock Listening Room." I spoke with Taylor McAlpine, who's one of the people help putting this on and he says he wanted a way for people to sit in a room, enjoy some music and hear people's stories.

This will change every month to different venues, performers, themes, local cuisine and experiences. This is giving you a way to explore Lubbock, see different venues in new ways and meet people all at the same time.

"For me, I am a bit of a dreamer myself and I have always been and this is going to be a channel to put them all out on," said McAlpine.

Each event will be a different experience so that we can all explore and expand our palette or different musical genres and learn the stories of each performer in Lubbock.

"This is Lubbock's musical gathering. This is a place where friends and families come together," he said.

It is going to be about a two-hour event with about an hour of storytelling and music.

McAlpine told me, "it will be social and one of the best options for date nights in my opinion and just to be around a creative community of Lubbock's music industry."
