The South Plains Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is asking the community to foster or adopt multiple dogs that were rescued from a hoarding situation.
SPCA was notified of the situation on Thursday, August 12th.
The man had counted up to 40 dogs needing help, and was apparently turned away from Lubbock Animal Services, the Lubbock Police Department and multiple other shelters, telling him to do things like let them loose in the country, leave the gate open and release them, or tying them up so others would feel sorry and save them.
SCPA noted that some of the dogs suffered hair loss due to fleas and some had a bit of mange, but all were ok physically.
10 puppies are currently safe at a rescue, and 10 adult dogs were headed to another rescue. The remaining 20, however, still need to be adopted or fostered.
SPCA said that anyone who fosters or adopts any of the dogs through them will have all medical expenses, vaccinations, microchipping, spaying or neutering, and heartworm tests covered. They are limited on the time they can get them pulled from the property, so it's asked that you act soon.
For more information, it's asked that you contact SPCA at adoptions.spspca@gmail.com.
