The Missouri Tigers continued their winning ways Friday night at the expense of the hometown Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Tigers defeated the Red Raiders 9-0 in Game 1 of a 3 game series at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.

Missouri left-handed pitcher Rob Zastryzny (4-2) threw a complete-game seven-hit shutout with five strikeouts and two walks to lead the Tigers to their fourth consecutive Big 12 win. Texas Tech (23-22, 3-13 Big 12) has now dropped five consecutive conference games and remain tied for last place in the conference.

Texas Tech starting pitcher John Neely took the loss giving up eight runs in just 4 1/3 innings pitched. Seven of those runs came in the fourth inning of Neely. One of the few bright spots in the game was catcher Bo Altobelli going 4 of 4 at the plate and Jamodrick McGruder going 2 of 4.

Texas Tech and Missouri will play Game 2 tonight with first pitch at 5:07 p.m. Duke von Schamann (5-3, 1.84 ERA) will take the mound for the Red Raiders.
