The Houston Texans were unable to clinch the #1 seed in the AFC as the Minnesota Vikings beat the Texans 23-6 at Reliant Stadium.

The Vikings defense stymied the Texans offense throughout the game as the Texans weren't able to score any touchdowns.

Adrian Peterson rushed for 86 yards and no touchdowns in the Vikings win. While Peterson didn't score, the Vikings were able to eat up clock. Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder went 16/30 passing for 174 yards and 1 touchdown.

Texans running back Arian Foster had a horrible game, only gaining 15 yards on 10 carries. Texans head coach Gary Kubiak revealed after the game that Foster was pulled in the third quarter due to an irregular heartbeat.

Matt Schaub was pulled late in the fourth quarter after the outcome of the game was decided. He went 18/32 passing for 178 yards and no touchdowns.

The Vikings are now (9-6) and remain in the hunt for an NFC Wild Card berth. The Texans have already clinched the AFC South but are now (12-3). They have clinched a first-round bye but may be in a position to lose the number one seed in the AFC to the Denver Broncos.
