Man Arrested After Leading Two Police Agencies on a Chase Through Two Counties
A Brownfield man was arrested Monday morning (Oct. 1) after leading multiple police agencies on a chase through two counties with a stolen vehicle.
Around 9:45 a.m., the Crosby County Sheriff’s Office was pursuing 22 year-old Johnny Gonzalez-Ramos who is alleged to have stolen a vehicle.
The pursuit began on U.S. 62/82 West in Crosby County. Gonzalez-Ramos drove into oncoming traffic on 62/82 East and struck a Lubbock County Sheriff. The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office joined the pursuit and arrested Gonzalez-Ramos on 62/82 West in Wolfforth around 11:30 a.m.
Authorities used a GPS system in the Gonzalez-Ramos' vehicle to track him.
Gonzalez-Ramos is being held in the Lubbock County Jail on evasion charges. Additional charges are pending.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
