Lubbock’s Bueno Jiu-Jitsu & Bom Brazil Sets Grand Opening Date
Have you ever wanted to try or get into Jui-Jitsu? Well, now's your chance with the grand opening of Bueno Jiu-Jitsu.
Bueno Jiu-Jitsu Academy will be opening up and offering two mat areas for training, an açaí bar, restrooms, showers and a sauna.
The açaí bar will be with Bom Brazil, which we told you about back in January. You can see the rendering below of what the place will look like.
If you didn't know, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport based on ground fighting and submission holds. It focuses on the skill of "taking an opponent to the ground, controlling one's opponent, gaining a dominant position, and using a number of techniques to force them into submission via joint locks or chokeholds."
This gym and location will be taught by professor Douglas Bueno, who moved to Lubbock from Porto Alegre, Brazil six years ago to compete and teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This is your chance to train and see what it’s like to learn from a true professional.
Their grand opening will be held on Friday, May 13th, 2022 at 6 p.m. The event will be open to the public and they look forward to meeting everyone.
You can find out more information by calling them at (806) 317-8548 or go to their location at 6006 4th Street, Lubbock, Texas. They also post a lot of information on their official Facebook page.
