The Lubbock Blizzard Recovery Group, originally started to help those that slipped on ice or got stuck in snow, has recently been helping drivers out of flooded roadways.

Thunderstorms and localized flooding have been impacting the South Plains over the past few weeks, so many drivers have been finding themselves stuck in the water. It's also necessary to note that flooded roadways can often seem more shallow than they are.

Zach Proctor, member of the Recovery Group and current student at Texas Tech University, said this to KAMC News:

We’ll go out there and ask if they are okay and if they’re okay with us giving them a pull. Usually I’ll just pull in and back in front of them and then we’ll get out and put a strap or a chain on your car and just pull them wherever they want to go.

It’s pretty cool seeing the community come together and help the locals out in a time of need and seeing everyone in Lubbock helping one another,” said Proctor, “It feels really good to help people out.

Proctor also said that any help that they do give to citizens is completely free. They say that they wouldn't want to add any bills on top of the already bad day citizens would be having.
