Lubbock’s Best Pools That Require a Membership
Earlier I posted about the best pools in Lubbock to go to that don't require a membership. But if you're looking for a more exclusive, upscale place to go swimming regularly, you'll want to get a membership to one of these clubs.
Note: This is not an endorsement. These are in no particular order. I'm not saying one is better than the others. Each has its own amenities and reasons to join. Do the research and pick which one fits your needs best.
The Falls Tennis and Athletic Club
I was a member at The Falls a few years ago and it is very nice! Your membership to the athletic club usually includes pool privileges. The pool features a small wading pool for small children and a full restaurant and bar with table side service. Yes they will bring food and drinks right to your pool chair! It's awesome. And expensive. But worth it if you really want the best pool experience without putting one in your backyard.
The Falls was at one point owned by the same people that own Las Brisas steakhouse right next door, and you would get a discount to the restaurant with your membership. I'm not sure if that's the case still or not, but if so it's a really good deal. Las Brisas is probably one of the best restaurants in Lubbock.
Bodyworks on 82nd Street
I am currently a member at Bodyworks on 82nd Street. If you have small children, this is probably the best choice in pools for you because of their indoor water park. The water inside is only 1-2 feet deep at most and includes an awesome play area with small slides, water guns and a giant water dumping bucket. Plus, it looks like a pirate ship or island. There is also an outdoor pool with a larger water slide. That pool only gets to 4 feet deep, so larger kids can swim without mom and dad freaking out.
Both pools feature lifeguards on duty, too. And you get to work out while the kids swim, so its a win-win!
Texas Tech Rec Center Student Leisure Pool
You have to be a student, or have a family member employed by Texas Tech, to use the Student Leisure Pool. But if you do, it's awesome!
Water slides, lazy rivers, splash pads, food, drinks and more! Truly a great place to hang out on the hot days of a Lubbock summer. And the view is impressive, too.
Bonus: It's the largest leisure pool on a college campus in America!
Lakeridge Country Club
Lakeridge Country Club Pool is another nice choice in town. It is located right by the main country club building and just off the golf course. A summer membership is $800, so its pretty pricy. But it also includes a kid's pool, snack bar and lifeguards.
Premiere Sportsplex
With your membership to Premiere Sportsplex comes pool privileges. The Premiere pool includes diving boards, water slides, gas and charcoal grills for cook outs), a kids pool, and lifeguards. You can also book the pool for private parties. It's located next to a really nice park area, so it has a nice view.
