It is officially summer in West Texas, and that means heat. Lots of it, too! So I compiled a list of the City of Lubbock's pools that don't require a membership.

There are a bunch of pools that require you be a member. Those are great pools to be sure. But I wanted to share a list of pools that you can just swing by any day and go for a swim without any commitment.

These first four pools are run by the City of Lubbock and cost $2 for 17 and under and $2.50 for over 17 years old. All of these city pools feature concession stands, lifeguards, showers, diving boards, shade trees, shade umbrellas and are ADA accessible. Clapp pool, Mae Simmons Pool and Montelongo Pool also feature a 90-ft water slide.

Note: These pictures are from Google Earth and were clearly taken when the pools were not in service. They look much more enjoyable when they're full of clean water, which they are now.

The City of Lubbock also rents each of these pools out for private events for an extremely reasonable price. You can find info and prices for that at their official website.
