A Lubbock man has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a car chase while he had six children in his vehicle.

KAMC News reports that just after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 17th, 2021, an officer spotted a 2006 Nissan Murano in the 2200 block of 46th Street with a defective license plate light.

The officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver didn't pull over.

Police say that the vehicle approached the intersection of 45th Street and University Avenue and turned south, traveling through the north bound lanes into oncoming traffic. The officer lost the vehicle, but another officer spotted it later on and continued the pursuit.

Police were eventually able to get the vehicle to stop in the 3400 block of 54th Street, and when officers approached the vehicle, they noticed six children inside, unrestrained. One of the children had an abrasion on their face, but it wasn't serious enough to require hospitalization.

It hasn't been specified whether or not the children have been placed in the care of another family member or with CPS.

The driver of the vehicle, 34-year-old Brian Bradley Quesada, was identified as the father of all six children.

As of January 18th, Quesada remains booked in the Lubbock County Detention Center on bonds totaling $72,500.
