Lubbock Man Accused of Threatening Ex-Wife and Her Boyfriend with Gun
On Monday, August 16th, a Lubbock man was arrested after it's said he sent threatening text messages to his ex-wife and her boyfriend.
KAMC News reports that Lubbock Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 3500 block of 79th Street at roughly 9 p.m. On arrival, the woman told police that her ex-husband, Jerrod Drinnon, had sent her a message threatening her boyfriend along with a picture of him holding a gun. While talking to the officer, the woman appeared on high alert, interrupting speech and watching vehicles passing by the home.
Apparently, this wasn't the first time Drinnon had made threats. This one, however, was the most extreme.
In a separate incident, the woman says that Drinnon had entered her backyard without her consent and sat on the back porch for a little bit before leaving. After this, Drinnon was said to have become more aggressive.
While on the scene, an officer noticed a vehicle driving by the home slowly before leaving. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found Drinnon in the driver's seat with a firearm.
Drinnon was arrested and booked in the Lubbock County Detention Center on charges of making a terroristic threat of a family/household, making a terroristic threat causing imminent fear and unlawfully carrying a weapon.
