Lubbock Is Urging Citizens To Stick With Water Plan

June 21st is the first official day of summer. As is the case on most summer days in Lubbock, it's hot and dry and some citizens might be thinking about watering their yard this evening. Depending on your address, the City of Lubbock would have no problem with that, but for many, the City of Lubbock would like to remind you to stick with the irrigation plan the City of Lubbock has on the books.

So what are Lubbock's current water restrictions? According to a press release from the City of Lubbock, citizens can water between the hours of midnight to 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. until midnight. Another restriction says you can water your yard, but runoff is not allowed. The City of Lubbock also prohibits citizens from watering if it's raining outside. Hand watering is allowed at any time.

Oh, and one other rule that no one needs to worry about right now. No watering is allowed when temperatures are below 35 degrees.

According to the City of Lubbock, there are certain days you you can water:

• Sunday: No watering
• Monday: House numbers ending in 3, 4, 9 & 0 can water
• Tuesday: House numbers ending in 1, 5 & 6 can water
• Wednesday: House numbers ending in 2, 7 & 8 can water
• Thursday: House numbers ending in 3, 4, 9, & 0 can water
• Friday: House numbers ending in 1, 5 & 6 can water
• Saturday: House numbers ending in 2, 7 & 8 can water
