The Lubbock County Commissioners court is holding a special meeting on Monday, October 7th, and during that meeting, commissioners are scheduled to accept the resignation of Chief Medical Examiner of Lubbock County Dr. Sam Andrews.

According to KAMC News, the letter of resignation was submitted on Wednesday, October 2nd.

Commissioners will be considering the appointment of Dr. John Lang as the Acting Chief Medical Examiner.

Andrews, Dr. Sam Matshes and NAAG Pathology has been the center of a controversy that's been going on since February.

FBI Agents and Texas Rangers even raided the Lubbock County Medical Examiner's Office in September.
