Lubbock Christmas day Shooting Leads to Teen Arrested by Police
A Lubbock teen wanted for murder has been arrested by the Lubbock Police Department. At 11:39 p.m. on December 25, Christmas day, the Lubbock Police Department was dispatched to the 2100 block of East 4th Street. Lubbock Police were responding to a report of shots fired and at the scene discovered 20-year-old Ivan Reed suffering from a serious gunshot wound.
KAMC news reported that Reed was transported to University Medical Center for his injuries but was declared deceased at 1:11 a.m. that Monday morning. Investigators with the Lubbock Police Department discovered that an altercation had occurred between Reed and the suspected gunman. The suspect was previously unknown but was later identified as 16-year-old Jamaree Shepherd and was to be considered armed and dangerous by the Lubbock.
Shepherd was eventually found and arrested at 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, in the 1200 block of Dover Avenue by the Lubbock Police Departments Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit and Texas Anti-Gang Center investigators. Earlier on Wednesday the Lubbock Police Department did take to social media to reveal Shepherds identity and ask for the publics help in finding the juvenile.
