Even by the picture most of you probably already know where this is going but our beloved BBQ restaurant is doing it again.

If you didn't know Texas BBQ is voted the best type of BBQ in the country by a study with the BBQ Revolution. So being compared to not only the best in the state but also the best type in the country is a huge honor. Here in Lubbock, we know we have great food but now other people are finding out as well.

We all know and love Evie Mae's so this is no shock. They made it again on another top 10 list for best bbq joints competing with places all over the state.

Evie Mae's opened in 2015 as a food truck, and soon the owner Arnis and Mallory Robbins knew it was time for a brick-and-mortar location. A year later, they opened a place out in Wolfforth, Texas, and the love for their food grew in the community. Just this year, they opened a second location inside the United Supermarkets at Slide and 114th. Both locations go until they sell out and most of the time they do before they even need to close.

This isn't their first time making big lists, they have made Texas Monthly multiple times and so many other amazing places besides our hearts.

The article with Texas Real Food goes on to talk about Evie Mae's saying "Arguably some of the best brisket in Texas" which is obviously a huge honor. We love seeing our local restaurants getting Texas size recognization especially when they deserve it.

Turns out you can find some quality BBQ in the least likely of places. You've probably heard the phrase, "Don't judge a book by it's cover", that's pretty much the case for several of these top BBQ joints in Texas.
